Tradition you can carry.

These vibrant shoulder bags are handwoven by Quechua artisans in the high Andes using soft, resilient baby alpaca wool. Each design features traditional Andean patterns and bold natural dyes, woven on backstrap looms passed down through generations.

Whether you’re carrying essentials on the go, tucking in a journal, or safeguarding ceremonial items, these sling-style purses combine cultural artistry with practical design. Many use them to hold sacred objects, plant medicines, or tools for ritual and reflection.

The long strap fits comfortably across the body or over the shoulder for everyday use.

Available in a variety of colors and patterns—each one unique.

Symbolism

This piece carries the woven symbols of Qochakuna & Apukuna (Lagoons & Apus) from Quechua cosmology. Together, they weave a story of Harmony between the Lagoons and the Apus (mountains), the community and nature, and the protection that the Apus offer the community, and in turn the guardianship the community has for the landscape. These sacred patterns honor the Apus and the Lagoons and the sacred relationship the community has with nature and the energies of the land.

Care Instructions

To maintain its sacred softness and longevity:

    •    Dry clean - or hang outside in the sun. Alpaca is a highly intuitive self cleaning fiber that works with the elements to return to it’s original form

    •   Use a soft, damp cloth to spot clean

    •   As with any wool, be aware of moths.

Impact & Reciprocity

Each purchase directly supports the artisan who made it, uplifts the community behind it, and honors the Quechua concept of Ayni—sacred reciprocity. You’re not just buying a wrap. You’re participating in the restoration of ancestral economies, conscious fashion, and ethical storytelling.
